Experience the excitement of horses and ponies performing to the max. The Oklahoma Harness Horse Association is recruiting volunteers to help at their Annual CDE. No experience is needed; training will be provided. The venue is Payne County Fairgrounds, Stillwater, Oklahoma (5 miles east of Stillwater on Hwy. 51; corner of Hwy. 51 and Fairground Rd.). Volunteers are needed for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The greatest need for volunteers is SUNDAY which is marathon day.

The competition begins with the formal elegance of Dressage on Saturday morning. Following Dressage is the  Cones course which requires horses and drivers to negotiate an intricate route defined by traffic cones where precision and speed are essential.  Then things step up on Sunday when the same horses and drivers take to the wild and wooly Marathon course, 10 miles across country, challenging drivers’ judgment and skill and horses’ courage, agility and fitness.

Want to learn more about carriage driving or combined driving? Georgiana & Jake out on the cones course

The best way to learn (and have LOADS OF FUN while doing it) is to volunteer.

The OHHA has several events during the year including carriage driving shows, arena driving trials (a one-day CDE all held in an indoor arena), clinics, trail drives, and the Cowboy Country CDE.

None of the club events could take place without the help of volunteers. Many of the people who help just love horses and having the opportunity to be around them. Some people volunteer so they can learn more about carriage driving. Some club members will drive at some events and volunteer at others.Friends help Linda Early hook her cart to the cart

The annual Combined Driving Event needs many volunteers. The volunteers have the best seat in the house to see the top Carriage Driving teams in the country!

Most importantly everybody has fun.

If you, or a group (great for service groups) you are in, can assist at one of our events please email us and let us know. Email OHHA
